Volunteer Information

Fourth of July Committee Needs Volunteers for both the Picnic in the Park and the Parade!

Glen Ellyn is the Village of Volunteers and we need our residents to
help us keep this year’s celebration safe and fun for the entire family

Saturday, June 29th- The Picnic in the Park at Lake Ellyn is run in conjunction with the Great Cardboard Regatta.  The picnic needs at least 60 volunteers to make it run smoothly.  The shifts are 2 hours long starting at 11am or 1 pm and the volunteer jobs are selling and serving food and beverages.

Thursday, July 4th- At least 100 volunteers are needed for the 4th of July Parade and pre-Fireworks at Lake Ellyn.
  • Lot Captains- 10 am start time until parade unit leaves your lot.   Insure safety and confirm proper location of parade entries.
  • Parade Marshals- 11:30 start time until last parade unit passes you.  Ensure everyone enjoys the parade by keeping the crowds from running into the streets and parade units to keep a steady pace behind the previous.
  • Banner Carriers- 11:30 until end of parade. Youth to march in the parade and carry banners from our sponsors.  Friends, troops,  & youth classes are welcomed.
  • Parade Finisher - 11:30 until end of parade.  Volunteers are needed at the end of the parade route to thank and direct the units back to find their own transportation.
